“He has two really good qualities: He has a deep voice, which is really explored a lot on the recordings we did for [One Direction’s second album]. He’s a good complement to Harry’s raspy voice. Their voices sound really good together. And the other quality Louis has is he’s got a very good melancholic voice. We experimented a lot with his voice on this recording.”
— Carl Falk, about Louis Tomlinson. (x)

“I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.”
Barack Obama in an interview with ABC News

“Four years ago I was locked in a brutal primary battle with Hillary Clinton. Four years later she won’t stop drunk-texting me from Cartagena.”
— President Obama, White House Correspondent’s Dinner

“There’s a loneliness that only exists in one’s mind. The loneliest moment in someone’s life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly.”
— F. Scott Fitzgerald The Great Gatsby

“But love is always new. Regardless of whether we love once, twice, or a dozen times in our life, we always face a brand-new situation. Love can consign us to hell or to paradise, but it always takes us somewhere. We simply have to accept it, because it is what nourishes our existence. If we reject it, we die of hunger, because we lack the courage to stretch out a hand and pluck the fruit from the branches of the tree of life. We have to take love where we find it, even if that means hours, days, weeks of disappointment and sadness. The moment we begin to seek love, love begins to seek us. And to save us.”
— Paulo Coelho

  • Question: Does Aubrey Plaza give a fuck about anything in real life?
  • Adam Scott: ... I can read you a text. I hope this embarrasses her. She's in Austin for SXSW so she texted me asking "hey are you in Austin? We should hang", and I said "no, I'm not. Sorry", and she said, "fuck you".

“I worked at a bakery slash deli in Santa Monica when I was fifteen. I was an awful… an awful employee. I just, I wasn’t a real, you know - it’s funny, because I’m in the business of, like, you know, it’s like a people industry, you make movies and you do theater or whatever, but I just, I couldn’t get behind, you know, waking up at a certain time, and the, and the - you know, going and serving people, it was just, like, it was awful.

[…] I’ve always been awful at math. I’m not good with numbers. So one day I was called into the manager’s office, ‘cause the till was short. I was brought into the manager’s office, and she said, you know, “We’ve been looking over the paperwork, and we’re three thousand dollars short.” I was like, “I don’t know. Three thousand dollars, I - it’s not my fault.” But apparently it was my fault. I was so bad at that till, three thousand dollars short, she was gonna fire - she thought I was stealing from the deli. I wasn’t stealing from the deli, I was not - not a thief. I was just, you know, I got overwhelmed by the buttons.”

Chris Pine on The Tonight Show (February 8th, 2012)

“I met Chris Colfer recently. He’s a fucking amazing kid, I love what he is, I love what he thinks and his fucking lovely smile. He’s such a beautiful kid. He told me “I love your music and your acting.” I said “I want to be your father.” He’s so fucking adorable.”
— Jared Leto, about Chris Colfer.

  • GQ Magazine: Will you be watching Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man?
  • Donald Glover: Yes I will. Actually I saw someone online saying, “I can’t wait for the picture of Donald Glover watching the big Spider-Man movie to come out. I can’t wait to Tumblr it.” I won’t be able to go to the movies because people will take pictures! That whole experience taught me you have to be careful what you put out there. #donald4spiderman was supposed to be a joke. It was a viral thing but people got very upset. Sony started calling me and it took off! Twitter does have an effect on everything - things you put out there, they are out there for good. It was a jumping-off point for the album - I didn’t even realise that people still felt that way. I did not know that a black Spider-Man was a big deal. I wasn’t militant about it but I thought it would be interesting. Maybe it would be a different story if there weren’t three Spider-Man movies that already existed.
